What Is Chemistry Depot?
Our website is designed to help high school and college students learn chemistry. Here are some of the topics we cover: introductory; organic; inorganic; analytical; and physical chem.
Introductory chem is the foundation of all fields in this subject. It has a broad range of topics to get you familiar with key concepts.
Organic chem is the study of molecules that primarily involve carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur, and phosphorus. There is a focus on functional groups and the ability to use these to synthesize other compounds.
Inorganic chem is the study of molecules and complexes that mainly involves transition group metals. Electron configuration, molecular orbital theory and hybridization, point group symmetry, solid state chem, and crystal field theory are key concepts in this field.
Analytical chem is a field of that focuses on precision of measurements in regards to concentrations of ions in solution. Methods in order to obtain these measurements are also a key part of this subject.
Physical chemistry primarily involves thermodynamics, electrochemistry, reaction kinetics, and intermolecular forces.
